Not recommended for cold weather despite marketing claims. Poor performance in extreme cold due to uninsulated rubber foot portion and problematic design that creates uncomfortable ankle situation.
Pros
- Cuff lays tightly against leg when laced, preventing bunching
Cons
- Only upper portion shearling-lined, rubber portion allows considerable cold
- PrimaLoft insulation ineffective in cold temperatures
- Creates catch-22 situation: thick socks needed for rubber portion cause hot, sweaty ankles while feet stay chilly
- Rubber sole extremely slippery on ice and dangerous in icy conditions
- Textured rubber sole wears down quickly, reducing grip
- Laces become tight and cumbersome after wear, difficult to remove
- Requires complete re-lacing before next wear, time-consuming
- Not useful for temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit
